Hello,

I want to insulate the upper floor ceiling. I have found an instruction for this.

The following statement confuses me: "Der Stauraum unter dem Dach muss danach nicht verloren gehen: Solange der Speicher unbeheizt bleibt, kannst du ihn weiterhin begehen."

The attic should still be accessible. I want to keep the option open to heat it at some point. Why is the attic no longer accessible if it is heated? Or how should I understand the quote?

No one has any idea where the hint comes from?

Maybe it's because you asked a question without any information... What kind of ceiling? Wooden ceiling, concrete ceiling, ... structure What kind of roof? Cold roof, ventilated vs. unventilated What kind of insulation? What kind of insulation structure?

What does "As long as the attic remains unheated, you can continue to access it" mean? That is phrased very generally. As soon as the attic is heated, it is no longer accessible? That doesn’t make any sense, because if it were heated, it would be intended to be used as living space.

In our case, there is OSB on top. That is supposed to be insulated now. But I want to keep the option open that I might heat the attic one day and use it as living space.

The roof is made of roof tiles. Beneath that are the rafters. Between them is fiberglass insulation.

Oh man. Can't you just describe the entire matter? I'll ask a few questions again. Just answer the questions. EVERY question - What kind of ceiling? - What kind of roof? Cold roof or warm roof? Ventilated or not? - What kind of insulation do you plan? - How should your insulation structure be? Also please: - Why do you want to insulate the upper floor ceiling if the roof itself is already insulated? - What kind of instruction are you quoting from? What roof/upper floor ceiling/insulation structure is it about? Then, and only then, can you expect an answer. It can't be that hard ;-)

Maybe the instructions you read are just rubbish? Some ChatGPT-generated text? Because I don't see any sense in that sentence either.
