First of all, my heartfelt condolences on your loss.

The consumption is really not insignificant.

It should definitely be checked where this is ultimately being consumed.

As Müllerin already wrote, I would also advise you to obtain an energy cost meter to at least determine the consumption of devices that have a plug. I would then measure each device over 24 hours and extrapolate that to the year.

This way you can find out what each device consumes per year and possibly counteract it.

The boiler probably cannot be measured because it, at least I assume, is connected directly and does not have a plug. Or the power might be too high for the meter.

Look for a nameplate; it will state the power it has.

I believe you can also borrow an energy cost meter from your energy supplier.

Or you buy something like that. This device is not particularly expensive.

I took the liberty of providing a link.

One more question: do your TV, PC, etc. possibly run on standby? That would not explain the immense consumption but would at least contribute.

And one more thing.

You cannot connect the instantaneous water heater electrically yourself; you need someone who knows what they are doing.

All the best for the future

Hello,

You should consciously leave altering the electrical circuit to people who know what they’re doing! Installing a branch circuit doesn’t cost the most money, but safety comes first; foremost your own! Again: talk to the job center and/or possibly also charitable organizations like Caritas ;)

Call your supplier and ask them to come out and check the power supply. Costs in my humble opinion zero euros.

Rhenish greetings

First of all, my condolences as well, that is a tough fate. I would also see it the same way as Computersylvia. Otherwise, maybe consider switching providers? How long do you usually shower on average? 5 and 15 minutes do make a difference, I hope you understand what I mean. And personally, about the [Durchlauferhitzer], I can only say that we live in an area where we have very hard water. That is great for skin and hair, but hated by every fitting and everything that has to do with water. The same goes for the [Durchlauferhitzer]. We have had the third one break down in a few years, so now we are aiming for a different solution because it becomes nerve-wracking and expensive in the long run, and the cold shower is always terrible.... Best regards

A properly functioning instantaneous water heater requires at least 15 kW of connection power, which would most likely require significant costly modifications in your house. Whether it makes sense to replace the old electric storage heater with a new one is not certain either, since a certain amount of power is required to heat a certain volume of water to the appropriate temperature, and the new one does not necessarily operate so much more efficiently that it would pay off in a short time. What is probably sensible is to have the old storage heater descaled, which will likely reduce energy consumption considerably and should not be too expensive!

Change your provider... you pay 26.38 cents per kWh gross and 96 € per year basic fee at 6000 kWh per year? By switching providers (to a reputable provider - e.g. Maingau) you can save about 250 € per year.
Do you have three-phase power in the bathroom? It was already mentioned... I don't think it's worth investing in there.
Can you maybe reduce the amount of boilers?

Double the savings! We are at about 19.5 cents including basic fee with a newly concluded contract (brand of RWE). There is a lot going on in the electricity market.
