We have air conditioning in the large living area (65 sqm), in the bedroom, and in the attic. No AC in the children's room.. they have to sweat. The one in the bedroom is already running (very quiet, no problem at night) set to 18 degrees in spring because of my wife's pollen allergy. Windows remain closed. Controlled residential ventilation keeps the pollen out. My wife manages much better this way. Controlled residential ventilation is of course also running. What I would do differently: Definitely add another indoor unit upstairs in the hallway (large south-facing windows*).. that would probably cover everything. The extra cost would have been negligible.

Have you ever tried whether the air conditioning on the ground floor does anything for the upper floor? Without turning on the upper floor?
