We have an identical Novelan LICV in a timber frame house. Utility room on the ground floor, children’s room above. We have no problems with noise or efficiency. It is also modulating. I would install it again.

You have already recognized the expected problems yourself. Air short-circuit is the worst thing that can happen to you. These air pumps usually operate at least > +2 °C somewhat effectively; however, with this installation method, you are creating a negative perpetual motion machine. After some time, even in spring/autumn, it will become a beautiful huge block of ice. Noise is not really a big problem with small split units in whisper mode.

It is about 1 m away from the living room wall in the northwest ... the bedroom is then on the other side of the house which is 12 m long ... I don't think that really helps us now .... I just wanted to say that you can always hear those things a little bit, that's why no one I know places them near the bedroom, and certainly not so cramped ... most have them at the front by the front door With northern closure and if that doesn't work then not directly near bedrooms ... It is modulating and when it runs to make water you can hear it ... that doesn't bother me in the living room either ... just stand next to such a unit when it's running ... you can hear it through normal windows after all ...

Hi everyone,

thank you very much for your last 6-7 contributions; really great that you get such constructive feedback here so quickly!

I will deal with the topic again this week and a perhaps possible setup variant; I will get back to you here again.

Many thanks for now - that has helped a lot!

Best regards
