Hello everyone,

we recently bought a house from the developer and the appointment for the selection of fittings is coming up soon.
Basically, we will mostly stick to the "standard" due to the budget.
The house is equipped with an air-to-water heat pump. A photovoltaic system for 10k is listed in the special request catalog.

As a layperson, the following questions arise for me:

- Should we have it installed? Will our electricity then be free in the future?
- How are they subsidized?
- Does it make sense?

Thanks in advance to all of you

How large is the system for 10k?

Based on experience, photovoltaic systems are cheaper if you have them offered separately afterwards. However, it would certainly make sense to take part in a preparation.
Funding cannot be answered in general terms.

Free electricity for the future, rather not, if that was meant generally. Photovoltaics produce a certain amount of electricity, which you will partially consume yourselves and partially feed into the grid (presumably for a small remuneration). Or into electricity clouds - as you wish.
However, you will not be able to cover your entire electricity demand with a photovoltaic system.

You were the one with the tight financing and many, many worries. Just don’t go into more debt.

Photovoltaics almost always make sense. Even more so with the current electricity prices.
BUT: What do you get for 10k euros?

A photovoltaic system up to 5K can be profitable; above that, it is usually a losing business. The key is that [the electricity storage systems] become cheaper, because currently the prices are completely inflated. Exception: an [e-car] can be charged a little. Otherwise, the self-consumption is often only around 25%.

Feed-in remuneration should be significantly increased
