Hello everyone,

I am moving into my first apartment soon and want to have an Ikea kitchen planned, but buy branded appliances. Except for the fridge and freezer, I have selected everything. Unfortunately, Ikea's refrigerators have too poor energy efficiency ratings, which is why I came across the Neff KI6873D40. In terms of dimensions, it would fit into the cabinet, but what unsettles me is the size of the doors. The lower freezer door is 61.8 cm high, the upper fridge door is 110.1 cm high.

Does anyone have an idea if this fits into the standard fridge cabinet with a tall and a small door?

Thank you very much!

I feel like I once read that other refrigerators are not compatible. However, you can very well disguise or use it inside with another compartment above the built-in refrigerator. The tip probably only applies to individual refrigerators without a dishwasher.

That will not work, at least not with the standard doors. You cannot use a 60 or an 80 door at the bottom, and there is nothing in between. A change of the fronts, either DIY or by the carpenter, would of course be possible. As a top door, you could shorten a 140 to 135 cm. As a bottom door, shorten an 80 to 64.6 cm. For safety, take another look at the dimension drawings on the Neff homepage.

Should fit. You will then have a small compartment or dead space above/below the fridge/freezer section, but if that doesn't bother you, it fits. It's the same with the Ikea refrigerators, not all of them have dimensions that fit exactly to the doors.

Dead space is not the problem. But with the standard fronts, the fridge and freezer cannot be opened separately - at least I think so.

I don't have in mind which fronts there are, but for the cooling part a 120mm or 140mm door would be fine. As I said, with dead space - semi-dead space, you can store things there that you rarely need. I have attached a quick sketch.
