Install gas heating, or switch to a heat pump?

Good morning everyone,
We are about to purchase a prefabricated house from Hanse dating back to 1963 in a few weeks. Currently, the property is still heated with an oil heating system from 1985. However, the seller bought a brand new gas heating system from Weishaupt last year, including accessories, which she would of course leave in the house. Additionally, she has already had a gas line installed from the street.
We are now faced with the decision whether to install the new gas heating system and possibly supplement it or whether we should completely switch to alternative heating systems, such as an air heat pump.
We would be happy to gather some advice and experiences here in the forum. What factors should we consider in our decision? What are your experiences with gas heating systems compared to alternative heating systems? Are there recommendations or considerations we should take into account?
We look forward to your opinions and experiences and to an engaging discussion.
Thank you very much and best regards!

What else is missing to put the gas heating into operation?
And what is the current oil consumption?
What will still be insulated and what kind of radiators are installed?

We only need to lay new pipes and have the heating system installed by a professional company. Unfortunately, we do not know how high the consumption is. We will still insulate the facade and standard flat radiators are installed.

Due to the delivery times for heat pumps and since the heating system is already there, I would have it installed first. In a few years, you will certainly receive a subsidy for the replacement ;) Another point in favor of the gas heating system now is that you will certainly have quite a bit to renovate. You should then design the heat pump for the fully renovated house. Alternatively, negotiate a discount with the seller and he sells the gas heating system himself.

As a criterion not to be underestimated, I perceive the fact that society seems to be very slow in the transition to ecologically sustainable technologies. Doing one's part to advance this gives a good feeling. (kann ich aus eigener Erfahrung sagen ;-)

For an exchange from oil heating to a heat pump, you could receive up to 45% funding from Bafa, including for example the installation of underfloor heating. I would calculate that precisely and also get a quote. Until the conversion, the oil heating can still run. Maybe you can sell the gas heating, there are plenty of crazy people who are very keen on it because of the new laws. Our heating engineer said recently that there are lots of orders again. But not for heat pumps, rather because everyone wants to quickly install a new gas heating system.
