I currently have two different induction cooktops here (one for 39,- and one for 59,- EUR) and I am horrified by the annoying noise that both devices make.. even on the lowest setting, the fan runs continuously.. absolutely terrible..

My question... can I save myself further searching... are all induction cookers designed so that the fan always runs? If so, I'd rather get a conventional hotplate.

What are your experiences?

Best regards, Steffi

Hello Steffi,
Sorry if I write this so bluntly, but what do you expect for the price? Also, everyone has a different perception of noise levels; what is loud for one person may not bother another.

We also have an induction hob and of course, when you turn it on you can hear the fan, but after that you really have to listen closely to hear it. Also, when using the power function, there is a short humming noise, but then it’s over; once the power is there. The price is of course also a factor that must be taken into account, as well as the pots and pans used.
Then there is the installation situation, meaning, can the hob vent sufficiently to the front and back.
There are quite a few factors to consider in order to have a perfectly functioning hob afterwards. Unfortunately, that remains hidden to some installers as well.

Uhhmmm... I don't mean a large built-in induction stove... but a single plate that you can use additionally when needed... Sorry, I probably didn't express myself clearly.

Okay, the freestanding devices are of course somewhat louder, simply because they blow freely out into the open. This is, for example, no different with microwave devices. But really, higher-priced devices are much quieter.

I was not aware until now that induction cooktops make fan noises at all... ceran or regular cooktops also operate completely silently.. I think I'll just get a regular double hotplate and that’s that...
