No, unfortunately we don't have a basement, so we have to play outside.

So that it looks good But yes, repositioning it more often might help. We will see then. We haven't had the lawn for very long and haven't played that often yet, it will show next year when we play more often.

If you have children and they, along with their friends, play in the garden, you will always end up with a "utility lawn" even without a table tennis table. In that case, the table tennis table doesn't make much of a difference either (speaking from experience - I have three children).

Lawn is after all a playing field and it just looks like that.

We had the same problem. The running surface then becomes muddy over time when the lawn disappears, and barefoot it’s no fun anymore. I had thought about putting [Fallschutzmatten] in these areas. No idea if that would have been any good. For us, the table tennis table gave up and was not replaced :-(

Yes, I have exactly these concerns too. That’s why I thought of grass grids. They only lie on a small part of the lawn and you don’t constantly walk and slip on the grass. But I don’t know how well that works during playing.
