Hello everyone,
I have been eyeing an induction hotplate for a while. Induction cooktops are not new to me, and I knew what I was getting into. I had already used single hotplates in the lower price range, which were more or less qualitatively sobering [meaning: okay].
TILLREDA looked promising. Unfortunately, you can hardly find any reviews online. I want to change that (at least here).
I thought, since Ikea has a one-year return policy, I'll just take the risk and buy the thing. If it really turned out to be a flop, you can just return it.
I had to pick up a goods receipt in the IKEA kitchen department. The saleswoman in the kitchen department praised the thing to the skies, even walked with me to the showroom kitchen to show me how nicely you can hang the plate on the wall thanks to the extendable handle.
"It even won some prize!" (I know: [red dot Design award] )
At home, I of course unpacked the plate right away.
It was well packed, relatively heavy and also bigger than the previous ones I have cooked with.
The feet are non-slip (not a given with some manufacturers).
The touch mechanism is sometimes a bit oversensitive, but better that than the other way around.
What annoys me is the reduction from 1 to 9 – so the negative jump from the lowest to the highest level.
The key lock and timer are good additional functions.
I also find the pause button innovative. It pauses the cooking, e.g. level 9, and switches to "keep warm" (lowest level). Superfluous gimmicks like program buttons are not present.
The fan runs on after switching off, but not excessively long like with other plates.
The noise level is still reasonable.
The most important argument for me, apart from the consistently flat surface: the lowest level corresponds to 100W power (e.g. Tefal starts at 450W – in my opinion already too much).
I hope my little report can help you with your purchase decision. Please excuse me if it seems a bit confusing and does not correspond to a complete "review". If I think of any more positive or negative features, I will expand my report. Of course, you are welcome to ask questions as well.
Best regards
