Ikea Rollcontainer Effective Assembly Instructions

Hello to the forum, I have a problem with my Effektiv rolling cabinet... maybe someone has an idea how I could get the assembly instructions? My multiple attempts via the Ikea homepage have not been successful, as I always get the standard response there that the assembly instructions can be found on the homepage. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the rolling cabinet, since the Effektiv program, I believe, was discontinued at the end of 2011.

Unfortunately, I have bent the key for the rolling cabinet so badly that it can no longer turn, will probably break on the next attempt, and I will no longer be able to open/lock the rolling cabinet. The local locksmith has already made me two keys, but unfortunately, neither works (which is no surprise given the bent original key).

My idea now is, since I have other Effektiv office cabinets, to remove a lock from one of them and install it in my rolling cabinet.

But I am not successful in removing the lock from the rolling cabinet; I already fail because I can’t even remove the drawers ;-(

Therefore, it would be great if someone still has an assembly manual for the Effektiv rolling cabinet and I could view it. Alternatively... maybe someone has already had a similar problem and can tell me how to remove the rolling cabinet lock?

That would be super kind, and I am hoping for your help, as I am slowly running out of options!

That's always the problem ... um, no ... the challenge at IKEA But you should manage the introduction well if you have already assembled the odd IKEA piece of furniture. You just need to be especially careful with the [Rollcontainer] drawers, that's always a bit tricky Just as a tip!

Since presumably no one has an instruction manual, one could only try to find a way based on good photos. Do the drawers open or are they locked?

First of all: unfortunately, I do not have a corresponding container.

But I can't manage to remove the lock from the rolling container, it already fails because I can't even remove the drawers ;-(

sounds like you can open the drawers. Could you take photos of the opened drawers so that the slide mechanism can be seen (from the side)?
In an open Effektiv filing cabinet for hanging files, the drawers are hooked and locked into the rails from above. Other Effektiv slides resemble those in Faktum.

I'm not sure if the topic is still really relevant to you after more than two years, but in case other users happen to come across this thread during their search, I might be able to help with a tip:

The rolling containers of the Effektiv series from IKEA have a small Phillips screw on the front left and right of the drawer inserts. If you loosen these screws, you can remove the drawer insert by slightly pulling it upwards. Depending on the design of the rolling container, the two upper drawer inserts must first be removed. After that, you can quite quickly see two more screws on the inside top of the right container wall that secure the lock. If you also remove these two screws, the lock can be easily pulled out to the front using a common household combination pliers (not much force is required if the two screws have been removed first). Alternatively, the lock can also be pried out with a narrow, flat screwdriver (but you should be careful not to damage the wood at the edge).
