IKEA Omlopp lamps and remote control

I was told back then when buying that I should take the big thing with Wireless. There is probably also one without. So it should actually work.

There was no cable with the box. And it only has this one connection for power, which I don't quite understand. Even if it is supposed to be switched in between, there still have to be an input and an output.

I also have this manual here. When I connect the box to power, I can pair the remote control with it. But that doesn't help me at all.

Image 2 of the instructions shows that to pair, you should press a small button on the remote control, which no longer exists on the newer remote controls.

Does the training work with the box?

Because the new remote controls have two switches. Because of dimming. I can program the remote control onto the small box; the remote control and the box were together in one package. But supposedly it should work without this, directly on the large strip. Which also makes sense.

That is probably the old version without dimming.
Oh man, this is complicated.
