IKEA METOD doors with old 2007 BILLY shelves?

Hello, if I remember correctly, then Billy does not have continuous rows of holes. Therefore, the first question is whether you are willing to drill holes for the hinges into the BILLY.

So, the holes go all the way through, there is a solid bottom in the middle. It is a single row of holes with 2.6 cm spacing between holes and 3.5 cm distance from the shelf edge.

Can you actually use hinges other than Ikea’s for the Metod cabinets? I have 34 cm wide drawer boxes (kind of like MOPPE) that I would like to put in a 40 cm wide cabinet, the inside width is 36.4 cm. Would, for example, this one work:

I assume the distances were measured from the edge of the hole, then it is the usual 32 mm hole spacing. For a door 8 cm high, the cup holes or the hinges have a distance of 700 mm from each other. 22 hole spacings correspond to 704 mm. If you fully extend the height adjustment of the mounting plate, you reach 704 mm. However, there must be no deviation. For the door and the Utrusta hinges, the mounting plates 174H7100E from Blum are necessary. If the lower two holes of the shelf are used, the lower edge of the door is about 5 cm lower than the middle between the two holes.

Ok, thanks! Yes, I did not measure from the hole centers, I thought I wouldn't get it exactly right, so I measured from the hole edges. And how does it work now with this hinge for METOD? Does it fit the METOD holes or is IKEA doing its own thing just like with the strange 20 mm grid?

The hinge does not fit. With the normal UTRUSTA hinge, there should still be 34 cm of space for the box.

So the METOD drillings are actually different.
