has anyone ever been to an Asian Ikea?

I’m really curious if it’s true that the only difference to the Swedish original stores is that they have an additional knife set and a wok in the range...

I thought there would be more differences – like special low furniture for eating on the floor in Japan or something.. so one lacquered side table with shortened legs, please!

What do you think would be another typical IKEA-Asia product? I’m looking forward to your theories.

I didn’t find any different products in Asia.
And we also have woks...

Ha - I'll tell the professor who told that in his lecture...

What kind of lecture was that?

It was an economics lecture and it was about different business models. IKEA was once a showcase example - because of the revolutionary idea to shift almost all service measures (delivering and assembling furniture at home and such), which were otherwise advantages of a business, onto the customer and still be successful with it (concept of the IKEA-Family; shopping and feeling good and such). My professor found that very fascinating. It somehow is.... but he didn’t want to make the lecture a field trip and kind of do on-site teaching either...

I would have thought there are more differences – like, for example, special low furniture for eating on the floor in Japan or something.. so one lacquer side table with cut-off legs, please!

the first thing that comes to mind are chopsticks. And in all colors, shapes, and variations. I don't know, but they probably exist in our local stores as well.

maybe Mahjong sets too :D
