Hello!
In my introduction, I already wrote that I want to get an Ikea kitchen in the near future.
I am particularly fond of the Edserum front.
I also have some questions:
1. Can I keep the carcasses of my old kitchen and replace the doors and (small narrow) drawers with larger Ikea drawers? (My base cabinets are 40-60cm wide depending on the cabinet and all 60cm high.)
2. I have seen in the inspirations that there is usually a drawer base cabinet under the sink. Because of the depth of the sink, the top drawer cannot be fully opened, or how does that work?
3. Are handles, rails, etc. included in the price, or do they cost extra?
4. What is more worthwhile? Refurbishing old carcasses with new Edserum drawers/doors or removing the old kitchen and getting a completely new kitchen?
A few facts about my kitchen space:
-I am single and don’t really need a giant family kitchen.
-I have a not-so-large, square eat-in kitchen with a balcony where I can also sit (really with a couch and table, not just a small dining spot). Theoretically, I could also use the space as a living room with a kitchen area. The downside is that it’s only about 10-12sqm in size.
-Currently, I have a 25-year-old kitchen unit, brand unknown, oak veneer, bought used.
*The kitchen unit is L-shaped, but the tile backsplash is designed for a single-line kitchen.
-I am looking for a single-line kitchen with a length of max. 3.00m to 3.16m.
-Appliances are available:
*Oven and cooktop separate from each other
*Refrigerator 60 W x 90 H
*Large microwave (which I rarely or never use)
*1 dishwasher which I cannot use due to lack of an extra water connection
*Sink with drainer Faucet
Existing cabinets from left to right:
BASE CABINETS
1x tall cabinet with 3 compartments for refrigerator and oven (I currently use the top one as a food pantry, but I think the top compartment is meant for a freezer.)
1x base cabinet with 5 narrow drawers
1x large corner cabinet with cooktop (pots, pans, casserole dishes, etc. stored in the cabinet. Unfortunately without a carousel) ---> Due to the depth of the corner cabinet, there is a dead unused zone in height.
1x cabinet with hinged doors W 60
1x dishwasher W 60
1x cabinet with hinged doors W 40
Empty space on the far right (Here is the trash bin)
UPPER CABINETS (Do not reach the ceiling)
1x cabinet with hinged doors and 3 shelves W 60
1x narrow open shelf
Empty space/dead zone (above the corner base cabinet)
1x cabinet with hinged doors and 3 shelves W 60
1x double door cabinet with glass doors
1x cabinet with hinged doors and 3 shelves W 60
Maybe you have some furnishing and design tips and can answer my questions.
Best regards Romi
