Hello everyone,

to all who have a pantry. Which shelf do you have in there? We wanted to put the Ikea shelf or the Ivar shelf in, but they don’t quite fit because of the door after all. What alternatives do you use?

I would take the Boaxel or install a rail system. That way, you are flexible with the number and height of the intermediate shelves. And you can also customize the lengths.

I would recommend a rail system like this:

Advantages: you can fit it exactly, making optimal use of every possible space. Instead of the standard boards, we used leftovers from construction, for example (we had many three-layer boards left over, which we cut to size).

This is inexpensive, flexible, and really adaptable to the room. A big advantage compared to classic basement shelves like Ivar is that there are no intermediate braces, so the shelf can really be made along the entire length of the wall.

okay thanks, I know the system but the woman wants something made of wood, similar to Ivar. Do you maybe have a tip for that?

Use wooden boards instead of the white boards and a metal rail system instead of the white one - it creates a stylish industrial style.

No, seriously: ill-fitting ready-made wooden shelves that also have those intermediate braces are just rubbish. You set up a pantry more for practical reasons anyway; the thing should simply generate as much space as possible.... I'll win the price at SCHÖNER WOHNEN with other rooms.

Form follows function. The shelf has a purpose, which is not fulfilled with wood (including Ivar). The rail system is wonderfully flexible. Besides, you hardly see the rails once the shelf is filled.
