Hello,
I have had a Billy shelf for my pewter figures in my apartment for years. As dust protection, I installed the Olsbo display cabinet doors. In the past, there was a relatively thin component used as the opening mechanism, in which a pin would come out when pressed and open the door. This worked wonderfully. Some time ago, unfortunately, one of these opening mechanisms broke, so I ordered a replacement from Ikea. Surprisingly, the new parts are now twice as wide as the old ones. And the problem is: they don't hold!
The pin part clips into a plastic frame that is screwed firmly under the shelf. However, the door applies so much pressure on the pin when closing that the whole part is pushed out of the plastic frame and then falls onto my figures. I have already bent the plastic hooks that hold the pin part inward as much as possible so that they hold the pin part with a lot of pressure. But it doesn't help. The door pushes the pin part backward until it jumps out of the plastic anchor at the front and falls down.
Does anyone know this problem and what can I do about it? I assembled the part exactly according to the instructions :(
