OK, I'll be undiplomatic for once. Please forgive me ;) I don’t like all these frills that are so often built. This currently prevailing architectural style, where a bay window is stuck on everywhere, a pseudo-antique porch put in front, and then blue-polished roof tiles are laid on top, leaves me amazed. As the cherry on top, white plastic windows with glued-on muntins. Ouch!

And Mediterranean country houses in northern Germany... puh... well. Each to their own. It’s not my money ;)

If I were rich, I would rather build in one of these two directions: 1. google "baunetz satteldach aus beton" and then the first hit. 2. google "tiso lagana brig" and then the first hit. The place costs almost a million Swiss francs.

Have a nice evening!

I like that too. :-) The balcony solution, starting from the bathroom, in picture 14/17 appeals to me very much. Just add a sauna in the bathroom and the wellness leisure time can begin! How does one properly seal the roof? Yes, that has something to it, too! ;-)

For both houses, you need experts in concrete construction. The insulation is internal, and in the first example, the roof and gutter are also part of the "concrete shell." The exposed concrete must not show later that it was poured piece by piece. The concrete mix and processing must be exactly right. That costs money, and therefore only rich Swiss can afford it ;)

In addition, the Swiss have the suitable mountain backdrop. In the dull North German flatlands, these houses probably don't look as good.

That may be true, but not appreciating the beautiful anymore is still better than having to pass missing cooking ingredients to the next-nearest neighbor in the space-saving new development area "Up Close".

If I lived in northern Germany, I would build myself such a fat reed-thatched villa. I find that very fitting. That's really cool. I also find these houses really cool. But I am more of a romantic type. I can't imagine such a modern concrete building at all with a little herb garden, manure heap, and wild rose bushes. And these things are simply indispensable for me in my garden. :)

Yes, it is a total mystery to me how so many people buy plots of around 300m² and then build up all that money gutter to gutter, just to live in the big city. Brrr. The noise, the neighbors, hardly any trees and bushes, and then the traffic - terrible. And then they buy a cabin in the countryside to recover from it. Huh?
