Hello everyone,
next week the heating installer will come for the hydraulic balancing and instruction on the heating system (Panasonic Aquarea Mono heat pump and underfloor heating with ERR, 150sqm). Since we had quite a few difficulties with the company and are concerned that only the bare minimum, if anything, will be done, I would be interested in your tips.

Hydraulic balancing

    [*
How long does something like this usually take?
      [*]How does it roughly work?
[*](Can) I somehow tell if he is actually doing something or just making a few adjustments "pro forma"?

    Instruction

[*]Which questions should definitely be clarified?
      [*]I can think of:
      [LIST]
[*]Where and when to refill water
[*]Change heating curve or shift it in parallel
      [*]Heating element on/off
      [*]Possibly change flow rate

So far, we have only had gas heating, so we are a bit unsure about what we actually need to know.

Thanks :-)

Well, he will set the calculated flow rates. That takes a few minutes but doesn't do you any good. A 5-minute conversation about heating curves is also pointless. Have him explain what was installed and how the heating works and have him give you documentation. Then look at the consumption next winter and if it's too high, you can optimize.

Hope no buffer tank was installed because of the ERR. Do you have the 5kW model?

Have the entire hydraulics explained to you and get plans for the installation of the underfloor heating.

Panasonic: Heating element off everywhere via software, bivalence heating element -15, forward temperature of the heating curve as low as possible (ideally <30 as max). Hot water tank set to max 45 and only heated once in the afternoon by timer. You will learn it quickly yourself, it’s simple.

Next winter: set all thermostats permanently to max/remove. If all rooms are warm enough but not too warm, then everything is optimally adjusted. To get there, you change the heating curve and flow rates until it fits. Restrict circuits as little as possible overall and allow a lot of flow.

Oh yes, and check if [Überströmventile] have been installed so that you can fully close them once the [ERR] has been deactivated.

Do not do it yourself. Firstly, you lose the warranty by doing so, and secondly, with modern systems, water should not be refilled with tap water in the interest of extending their lifespan.

For trouble-free operation and minimal corrosion and lime deposits, the VDI guideline 2038 must be observed, and the system must be filled and refilled with fully softened (stainless steel) or partially softened (aluminum heat exchanger) water.

To avoid deposits, fully softened/desalted water would be optimal, but this makes the water very alkaline (pH value somewhere around 9). Stainless steel is not affected, but aluminum prefers it more neutral, which is why it is mixed with non-softened water here, lowering the pH value.

You can comfortably ask your plumber how and with what he filled the system and why. Just play dumb and say that you read that it should always be filled with fully softened water and ask what it is about, or something like that.

But that will completely kill your spread, and a spread between 4-5k would be optimal.
