This is the kind of design we have in mind... as mentioned, cheeks and posts painted in white beech and steps/handrail oiled oak.
It is similar for us as well. Just under 3k extra per staircase as an additional cost.

In the general contractor’s standard, a beech bolt stair is included.
The stair builder’s suggestion is to use ash.
I have the impression that you belong to the "squirrels" here who try to build their house from the answers to a dozen individual questions (unfortunately without presenting it as an overall project, so that the answers could be coordinated with the context). And you seem to be building with a general contractor, not removing any or only few trades, but deviating from its standard in some places or at least considering it. This is, to put it mildly, a not harmless combination!
I recommend you (by the way: attentive readers may notice similarities in the floor plan, but that is not the reason for my reading tip) and for insight into the sad song of and with references to the stories of other "squirrels".Everything you say is correct. [...] I think it could be quite varied (Mediterranean city villa in country house style, mullions, architraves, cornices, French balconies by the blacksmith... so less the modern style)
The best time is always before the fallen dice.I will present the entire project in due course,
