Hello everyone,

I also asked during our complete renovation of the 200m2 house in Hannover if I was allowed to supply materials. It was always confirmed with the note that the warranty would then only be limited. We then did not do it. You have to consider that if you supply materials, they must also be there, otherwise you will get further problems and don't forget, the tradesmen currently do not need to discuss material (costs) with you. They simply hand the work over to the next...

You probably won't save anything at all and won't find a craftsman.

I am one of them. Why should I pay 30 euros for a liter of motor oil? I don't see that at all...

On the subject: Our bricklayer wants us to order the materials. According to the architect, this saves a decent margin that the contractor normally has in the calculation. I think it depends on the trade and the individual company. You can't generalize.

This makes me fear that someone in the trade does not want to leave any traces that could allow projections of their service sales...

That could well be one reason. But there are certainly other reasons for self-employed people who have absolutely no "administration" ... no administrative effort (driving around, making phone calls, placing orders, checking invoices, paying invoices), no capital tie-up ... just go there, do the masonry, and then go home and leave all the other stuff to the client .... After all, the day only has 24 hours.
