Hello everyone!

We will soon start building our semi-detached house and now I have measured on the site plan how much garden area we have. I measured that we have approximately 10x10m lawn area behind the house + about 15 sqm next to the house up to the garage. Unfortunately, I cannot really imagine how much 100 sqm of garden really is.

Does anyone have a similar area behind the house and can report whether it is still possible to set up a play frame for the children? Or do you even have a photo of a similar garden?

(Visually it will not be a problem, because behind the garden there is a field with a fantastic Sauerland view, where definitely no building is allowed in the next decades. In addition, in front of the house we still have about 80 sqm of front garden, where I will probably grow some useful plants.)

I would be very happy about small suggestions for my imagination.
Best regards, FamPre

I would mark out these dimensions on an open area, then you can see how big it is. You can't really tell from photos.

Staking out only on an open area doesn't bring much. It looks much smaller than it actually is because the eye has no three-dimensional reference point.

When I talked to other builders, most were shocked at how small the foundation slab was. Even when I measured our plot for the first time on the huge construction site, I was shocked. But if you walk around and then see a second person at the other end of the plot, you get a real reference point for the eye.
It is better to stake the whole thing out on an existing house.

I think 100 m² is not generous, but you can manage a play structure, and if there is a field behind, it doesn't feel so cramped. It doesn’t have to be the largest version necessarily.

So our house is 14x14.5m wide. Today the reinforcement is being done and on Monday the slab will be poured. I can gladly take a photo for you today, then you have a rough reference of what fits on it. I will also put our big one in the back corner for size comparison.

Sure, but that might give an idea of the dimensions. We have a 400sqm garden then and it currently looks really small.
