That is just a normal household item for me.

Well, GEZ applies to the household and is mandatory. Netflix etc. is your personal choice for entertainment. For that reason, no additional household costs (very clear).

Well... but the 12 euros don't exactly make a big difference... what’s really important is to break down all additional costs once in order to truly be able to show whether I can afford the monthly rate...

Then I also count all insurances. And also the car costs to be able to drive from the house to work. And also costs for groceries, because I prepare them in the kitchen and eat them in the dining area. That is all nonsense. House additional costs are HOUSE costs. The house is not responsible for you wanting to have Internet. But property taxes, electricity, and water you have to have. Only these costs (and similar) count.

Or not. I always advocate the rule of thumb:
Old basic rent + monthly savings rate - €100 more additional costs = maximum possible monthly rate.
