Hello,
We recently moved into our approximately 20-year-old house. I now suspect that there is moisture somewhere. The indications:
- Silverfish in the kitchen, stairwell, hallway/entrance area, guest toilet (all on the ground floor), bathroom (1st floor), laundry room (basement) (a total of about 10-15 in the first 5 nights we were active in the house at night, none in the last 2 nights, during which traps were set up in the kitchen and laundry cellar)
- perceived high humidity in the bathroom, guest toilet, and entrance area
- slight sewage odor in the guest toilet and entrance area
It should be said that there is no musty or moldy smell anywhere and there are otherwise no obvious signs of mold or moisture.
Of course, we always ventilate sufficiently; whether the previous owner did so, I cannot say.
Should I be concerned/take measures?
How can I find out if and where moisture has formed.
Thanks and regards,
