How can you cool the house a bit without air conditioning?

It's not that bad. I don't feel like fiddling with anything for the mobile air conditioner. Besides, we have insect screens on all the windows and can't just attach the hose there easily. At the moment we have a cheap tower fan, which actually works quite well. I mainly wanted to ask if there are devices (without exhaust hose) that could cool by about 1-3 degrees. Cheap and without much effort. Something like that doesn't exist, so you could just use fans. When we come in from outside, we always think, oh, it's already a bit cool.

Thermodynamics tells you "nope" to that. When producing cold, heat is generated that has to go somewhere... that's why it doesn't help to open the fridge door to cool down the kitchen...

If it's only about air movement, a cheap axial fan is a good choice. If you want to direct the airflow somehow and keep the noise as low as possible, the devices become more expensive. What Dyson does better than others: marketing. Our son took a Dyson fan with him when clearing out my mother's apartment. The device works well but is in no way "outstanding" as claimed.

the fan in the bedroom should of course be as quiet as possible. and also simply have a cooling effect on the skin through the airflow

the air should be well directed and distributed in the room so that it simply feels a bit cooler.

I already thought that the Dyson is just marketing.

What type of fan would you recommend? good airflow and as quiet as possible and quite good range at higher speeds We want to place one in the bedroom, living room and attic

We have the table fan (should be the CF1) for under €300. We were impressed by "the Dyson" in a restaurant, how much power its bigger brother has. Cheaper no-name brands might also do their job, but in my opinion, they are very loud. If you have a central lamp outlet, maybe there are comparable options among ceiling fans? For a few days, a wet towel in the window might help.

So, in my opinion, these devices are only suitable for localized, short-term use. Keeping entire rooms "cool" continuously is difficult.
