Hello, we avoid standby mode as much as possible, it consumes a lot of power. The PC also draws power if it is not completely unplugged. Therefore, I always turn off the power strip completely when I am not working.

good question

Maybe by using energy-saving bulbs or turning off standby on all electrical devices or changing the electricity provider – I did that last month I save almost 6 euros per month, so 72 euros a year

best regards chris

Just switch providers. I just did that and now save about €100 with ~4000 kW/year. And gradually switch to energy-saving bulbs, which is worthwhile in the long run.
Best regards, Marcy

You can also save electricity when cooking. You should always cook in as little water as possible. You should use a lid. Water boils faster in a pot with a lid than without, so energy consumption can be reduced by about 30%.

I also try to save electricity in every possible way. So far, it has paid off every year; I have always gotten money back. I have energy-saving bulbs or LEDs everywhere, all devices are connected to a switchable power strip, and when I cook, for example, pasta or eggs, I always turn off the stove once the water has come to a full boil. I have an electric stove, so this works very well because the plate remains hot for a long time afterward. And of course, when I'm not sitting at the desk at the PC, I also turn the PC off. Many people nowadays turn their computer on when they get up and off when they go to bed—even though they only sit in front of it sometimes—I don’t want to know how much extra cost that means for them per year.

Hello everyone,

I would like to know what the relationship between "paying too much for electricity" and the use (initially purchase) of energy-saving devices/items is.
For example: We spent about €50 on energy-saving lamps; but I don’t know if we will even notice this expense as a saving on the electricity bill.

Saving electricity is primarily an ecological issue; but what about the payback period – has anyone done the math, has experience?
