Hello everyone,

slowly the house construction is wearing on our nerves and we haven’t even really started yet :(
We have been working on the floor plan for a year now, which is finally entering the final phase... Now comes the window discussion :(

Is it as bad for you or only for us?
It’s no longer fun because everyone has a completely different idea so that even compromises are hard to find. You can see that in our very long planning phase.

A few tips would be great :)

Thanks & best regards

Hello,

who cannot agree with whom? Female builder with male builders? Or the building owners with the construction company? What is the "window discussion"?

hm, I can’t imagine building a house with someone where you can’t agree on such topics. How is it supposed to be at the selection of fittings then? :D

With us it is totally relaxed. So far we haven’t had any friction points regarding the house, we were always in agreement, sometimes already worrying. Floor plan design, selection of providers... The consultant’s exact words about the selection of fittings: "the fastest and most uncomplicated thing I have ever experienced."

And otherwise: How do you settle problems? Can’t you find any compromises? We do red roof tiles and you get the floor-to-ceiling windows? Or: normal windows on the north side, floor-to-ceiling on the south side (that’s how we do it, for example, because we don’t want floor-to-ceiling windows in the utility room and in the office). ;)

Many greetings

Michael

Yes, female client with male client ;) Our ideas about the house are somehow miles apart, tastes too different. :(

Compromises are definitely necessary, but finding them is not so easy when it comes to the big dream of a house.
Yes, how is it supposed to be with floors, doors, etc. *sweat*

Put your money where your mouth is. What exactly is the problem with the windows?

Without compromises, you will hardly get anywhere. However, with such an investment, I would also consider whether the compromises are sustainable for everyone in the long term and whether this is really the shared dream of life with such differing views. There have already been selections that directly led to divorce...

That you can have discussions because of windows?! Everything went very quickly for us,...

So far, everything has gone (almost) disturbingly smoothly for us as well. However, if we didn't share 98% of the same taste, it would be very difficult, because we both have very clear ideas about our house. That's why I can quite understand your situation.
