Thank you very much for the answers.

Yes, it was perhaps brave, but rather naive. And even though I always read along here

We have already inquired and asked our current landlords. However, they declined further renting as from the first week of February their craftsmen will come and renovate the entire apartment here. Besides, we really don’t get along well with them anymore, so it took a lot of effort just to ask in the first place.

Family lives 70 or 600 km away. So also not an option.

At least the fillers were here today. That means we can already start the painting work next week and begin the floor coverings in the kitchen, living and dining room, and in the bedrooms. We have many helpers for that, my parents are coming on Wednesday and are also helping vigorously.

I didn’t know that the house is considered accepted as soon as you live in it. I really have to take another look whether we want to put up with that...

It’s heartbreaking ...

I need to correct myself briefly: Of course, it also depends on the contract whether moving in counts as acceptance. For us, it was like that. It is best to get information from professionals here. I just did not want to leave this fact unmentioned.

About 1 month before handover (but you can subtract 2 weeks of Christmas holidays for the trades), the site manager was with us again. Since we painted our walls between the last trades and installed fixtures in the dressing room as well as lamps, we had already taken possession of our [Abseite]: bought shelves and put them in for our tools, painting supplies, etc. When our site manager saw that, he remarked with a wink that we had already moved in. I replied - also with a wink, of course - that it was just an emergency station for tools so that we wouldn’t disturb the tradespeople. We were already on the same page... I had also read in advance about the informal acceptance

@ Armin
What exactly should the moving company assist us with? With moving?

Thank you very much for your answers.

Since there really is no other way than to move into the house on the weekend, we will still carry out the house acceptance with our provider this week and, if necessary, record any work not yet completed as defects.

I wouldn't put furniture where sanding might still be happening (filler). Find somehow/somewhere a garage, cellar at friends or coworkers who can take your furniture. Then rent a holiday apartment for a week. I assume you want to handle the move yourselves?! Good luck, Julia!
