Nice visualization. I also like the idea of the extension, but somehow the coziness doesn’t come into the living room, does it? Maybe it’s just a matter of interior design?

We already have concerns, especially because of the openness of the kitchen + PC area + oversized dining room + level difference to the living room.

But due to the terrain and the already mentioned key points, this option is suitable.
The proposals from the planners of our construction companies were all uninteresting.

So I would also open the wall of the kitchen (at least partially)!
Cozy atmosphere has a lot to do with the furnishings. You can easily achieve that and also make it cozy!
I really like the extension like that!

I know a sunken living room, like yours, with the dining area above it. I never found it uncomfortable. Possibly you can also create some privacy with large plants. I wouldn't have any concerns about that.

In the meantime, I can "come to terms" with the living room. My basement (garden level) convinces me less. It was actually supposed to be an option for accessibility later on.

In the meantime, however, my daughter has taken an interest and wants two separate rooms.

The wet room must already be designed to be accessible now. In my opinion, there is far too little space for that.

Who has experience with this?
What is realistically necessary?
