House construction in the suburbs of Munich? What should we invest in?

I registered again today.... and yes, we want to join this outrageous craze... by the way, we have a building plot in sight in Gilching. Great luck at €1133/sqm. We are signing the reservation there tomorrow. Hopefully everything works out. It is only bought at the notary.... we expect about €900,000 in total for a semi-detached house. Crazy!!!! We searched a lot in Eichenau and Gröbenzell. But the trees are sacred there and the building authority often forbids cutting them down. Therefore, a semi-detached house was never feasible...

In Munich, everyone must earn like kings... or get into debt forever. For 900K €, at our current high rate, we would need almost 40 years.

The house must be paid off by retirement. I have no desire for the Swiss model. Well, we earn well, but for Munich we are poor devils. Really depressing.

We come from the area near [Stg]. [Stg] and its surroundings are not cheap either, but somewhat cheaper than Munich! We also own property there, but alone it’s just not doable... say 2 academics from 2 Dax30 corporations. Bitter

How do we finance this? Only with the help of the parents. It would not be possible alone. I had already written that it is bad that 2 academics cannot manage it by themselves. We are lucky to get the best interest rate because we have the highest possible loan-to-value ratio...

We are not holding back €90,000... as a backup we have our parents and our savings rate. I do not see the point in wasting so much money in the account.
