Heating maintenance contract - how much should it cost?

Here in the region, the installers are so fully booked that without a maintenance contract you practically have no chance of anyone coming when there are acute problems. Whether they do anything during regular maintenance is then almost irrelevant.

I am always amused that people first make a huge deal out of it and spend a lot of money on insulation and an extremely efficient modulating heat pump, so that the variable costs for heating electricity drop from 600 to 400 euros per year. And then some cheeky heating engineer just comes along and charges 400 euros per year for a completely pointless maintenance. At some point, the maintenance-free direct electric heating would actually be cheaper in terms of total costs...

A heat pump requires very little maintenance. I'll have the heating technician take a look at the outdoor unit when he's here because of the water softening system. Nothing is done there, nothing is replaced. Absolutely nothing. Purely a visual inspection. Sign a maintenance contract for that? You can do that..
