As already wrote: As long as you have an auxiliary heater (aka immersion heater), it will always be warm. Unless the power is out or the circulation pump is broken. But in the first case, the heater won't help you either and the second, I believe, is negligible in terms of risk.

I only took out such a maintenance contract because of the warranty; it will be canceled immediately after it expires. I just need to make sure that the sludge separator is cleaned every few years.

How much heating load does your house have at minus 12 degrees or at your design temperature? For a new build, somewhere between 3 and 7 kW. That's two to four DIY store fan heaters, which you shouldn't all plug into the same multiple socket. If you have a fireplace, it's even easier.

And we all shower cold anyway ;-)

I could take cold showers..... Wife and child less so :) I think I'll have the maintenance done now and watch what is done. And then I'll see how I proceed in the following years. Apparently, not many people have signed maintenance contracts....

Maybe someone has a maintenance contract that they can upload. I would like to compare the services!

Gladly: and here is some text without any relevance, written just to meet the required minimum number of characters.

we have a Nibe heat pump and unfortunately no specialist company in the area willing to carry out maintenance for it. I have worked on the system as much as possible and hope that nothing happens in the foreseeable future... These are the disadvantages of a supraregional main contractor. The subcontract heating engineer would have a travel distance of several hundred kilometers. Upon inquiry about maintenance offers, I only receive rejections... To bridge the gap, a wood stove and heating cartridge have to be used...

or rather: The problem of high demand with declining (suitable) heating companies will further exacerbate the problem (costs, personnel availability)...
