Hmm...
The heating engineer just told me that he will not carry out the project. I haven't talked to the main contractor yet, but does anyone of you know a good heating engineer in the Berlin area?
Someone who can handle requests professionally and doesn't quit out of wounded vanity?

Just for your information here as well: The GÜ is trying to talk to the Heizi again but doesn't expect much. He doesn't have another Heizi/plumber at hand and will probably credit me for the trade so I can find my own craftsman.

So, the conversation with the GÜ has taken place. I left with mixed feelings. On the one hand, he gave me a somewhat plausible explanation as to why, from his point of view, I should search myself. He sees the chances of success for a private person to find a sanitary company that will then carry out the work as higher. Not necessarily because of capacity, but because a sanitary company will think very carefully about starting a new business relationship with a GÜ unknown to them. With a private person, fewer questions arise. However, he also promised me that he will still look for alternatives himself. Besides that, he told me that he has been working with the subcontractor for years, if not decades, and has never had such a case, but also cannot really explain why the subcontractor lost interest now (he has the email correspondence). He suspects that I pushed the heating engineer into a corner with the very detailed questions and requirements, where he, known to the GÜ as an impulsive person, probably quit somewhat hastily. Nevertheless, even in a conversation with him, he only got a "No!" regarding execution for my construction project. However, he could imagine that I might be able to convince him again. Regarding the credit note, he assured me that he fully reimburses the costs of the heating engineer to him. I even believe him on that. Only, he does not add anything to me from his share of the margin of this trade on the total costs. At the moment, I am still waiting for offers from the alternative heating engineers. I have meanwhile contacted eight companies. Two refusals, one of them due to lack of capacity until well into 2021. One again due to too high requirements. Two have at least expressed interest but have not yet gotten around to preparing the offer (at least that). Now I am waiting for things to happen and still searching for other ways to get further good company contacts.

Yes, I am currently wavering between resignation and the urge to take action (phases in which I search for addresses and research on websites whether they might possibly be suitable). Many thanks also for your tips , unfortunately none of them have responded so far. The workload is simply too good at the moment. However, I will follow up again...

Yes, good craftsmen who can also take on a job within a reasonable time or fit it in somewhere are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
