Hello,

in my neighborhood, heat pumps are now gradually failing. One reason often mentioned is the blocking times where heat pumps basically come to a complete stop.

One neighbor has now switched from high tariff / low tariff to regular household electricity because of this. Without blocking times.

What do you think about that? How do the electricity conditions look, is it worth switching? The heat pump tariffs are not significantly cheaper if I look closely.

Here in my region, I have been running the heat pump on household electricity for ten years. Overall, it is significantly cheaper than a special tariff with a second meter. Electricity currently costs 25.9 cents.

hm, so it's worth considering or are you obligated to use the high tariff / low tariff meter?

Depends. Plot. There is no obligation. If you have received funding for the heat pump and have to prove its efficiency and the heat pump does not have an integrated meter, then you cannot avoid a second meter. But that should be the absolute exception.

Can you even notice the outage? A throttling of 2x2 hours daily is permissible for new ones. Old ones have a shutdown. When I think back to the early days of our field test system, it took more than 2 hours in winter before it was noticed.

Not in the new building. Yes, the heat pump then draws more electricity when it restarts after two hours, but I consider that unnoticeable.
