Heat pump subsidy (BAFA subsidy)

Hello everyone,

our potential developer has offered us a modified heat pump unit in the offer. This would cost an additional €1,980, but would be subsidized with €2,000 by the BAFA. So the heat pump would basically be free.

Is it really the case that the €2,000 is given as a gift, or do I have to consider something later with the income tax?

since 2020, BAFA has changed the funding and there is no longer a flat-rate subsidy.
You can find all the information on the homepage. You should also check there whether the heat pump is eligible for funding.

To my knowledge, the funding is not relevant for taxes.

Exactly. For the "larger" heat pump, there is a €2,000 subsidy. :) I was just not sure whether the use must be taken into account for income tax. This would presumably greatly reduce the benefit. Hence the question. If it has nothing to do with taxes – all the better :cool:

It is to be seen as a subsidization of the project with subsequent payment, not as a rewarding bonus that would constitute income.
