Hello everyone,

are there any builders here who are building healthy homes?

We are planning a healthy home using brick construction and I would like to exchange ideas with other builders, for example on the topic of material selection, building biology electrical installation, radon protection, selection of construction companies.

Best regards

Of course there are! I'm one of them :). But truly healthy living is no longer possible thanks to many regulations.

There are specialized architects for this topic. Do you want to build biologically for selfish reasons or out of love for the environment - so are you concerned with minimal pollutant and radiation exposure or with energy-saving, as environmentally friendly as possible construction? Depending on the budget, there are also larger companies such as [Baufritz] that have made this their mission. Otherwise, the classics: network disconnect switch, foundation slab with little steel to avoid influencing the radiation field, little PVC, no mineral oil products like stone or glass wool. Suitable as stone (because you write brick construction) are, for single-layer construction, for example, Perlite-filled Poroton bricks or, for double-layer, then unfilled Poroton bricks with Perlite filling / wood fiberboards and facing bricks.

Up to Kfw40, you can also easily use unfilled bricks without additional insulation. Only with passive houses does this no longer work. Styrodur, various adhesives, sealing compounds, hydrophobic coatings, etc. will still be partially required.

We had a so-called "Radonfolie" installed, but since it is a foil, it may no longer fall under "wohngesund." But for us, caution was more important than hindsight....

I am also one of those who tried to implement it 90% .... For example, regional products like Jura as flooring, no ETICS, a lot of wood, silicate paint, etc.

But perimeter insulation on the outside was still installed, for example, and the kitchen probably won’t be made of wood either.

We have a grid disconnector, wood fiber insulation, wooden windows, even tested for water veins if you believe in that.
