Hello everyone!

I came across the Grohe Blue Home System and we somehow fell in love with such a "sparkling water system" for our new kitchen...

Since we are getting a water softening system for the whole house anyway, we theoretically don't need this feature again separately for the faucet.

Does anyone have such a Grohe Blue Home System installed and can report something about it?

-Where do I get the CO2 bottles? Are these the normal exchange bottles from the supermarket?
-What about the filter? I have seen that the "S filter" only has a capacity of 600L and costs 70€ ops:

Does anyone know a comparable system that we could look at as an alternative?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be Grohe. But of course, it shouldn’t be cheap junk either...

I look forward to some answers.

We installed the system in the office and I am thrilled with it. For me, the taste is significantly better than all other portable soda makers. The system not only descalces the water but also filters it. It cannot be compared to the water softener. CO2 bottles are standard commercial bottles; we use the "large" 2kg bottles. You won’t find these in supermarkets. I can’t say if the smaller bottles are different. We have been using the system for about four months now with almost no problems (about 20 liters per day). The unit gets so warm after intensive use that the kitchen cabinet door was removed so it doesn’t keep switching off. BUT: Personally, the system would be way too expensive for me to purchase and maintain at home. For that price, you can buy sparkling water for a lifetime.

I'll join in on the thread, basically the same question including water softening system.

My thoughts:

Grohe Blue Home:
- Loud
- Only small 4xx sized bottles, otherwise warranty loss, bad because of water damage and insurance. And the thing handles pressure and plastic tubing, I’m basically waiting for the water damage
- Usable only with filter (possibly unnecessary)
+ "Affordable"
+ Brand device, experience available
+ Nice faucet

Grohe Home Professional:
- Loud
- More expensive
- Only with filter
+ Bottle size
+ Brand device, experience available
+ Nice faucet

Quooker Cube:
- Expensive
? Filter
? Noise level
- Small bottles
+ Brand device, experience available
+ Nice faucet
+ Hot water

Sprudelux Power Soda (New water):
+ Usable without filter
+ Large bottles
? Noise level
? Quality, no brand
- No experience
+ Faucet choices

I could live with the purchase costs. Our kitchen faucet is currently calculated at several hundred euros anyway. That would then be omitted... The pure extra cost would then be bearable considering not having to carry the heavy water crates anymore...

However, I am not sure about the maintenance... Do you really have to change the filter for 70€ after 600L? That would already be a cost not to be underestimated...

I have briefly looked into it and reviewed reviews, conclusion:

- If at all, only the professional version is quieter than the home version
- Only Grohe cartridges fit. Shape and size are like those of cheap third-party brands, but the thread can only be used with Grohe cartridges, and with that, you can only use Grohe cartridges which are expensive.
- What is expensive is the maintenance, not the purchase.
- For commercial use, okay; for private use, it is a waste of money. The price per liter for the home version without purchase costs is 60 cents. With that, the price per liter of sparkling water is so high that I am perfectly willing to carry water or drink it from the tap.

Or from the side-by-side with a pre-installed filter plus a water softening system in the utility room.
