hm here the opinion seems to be "pro" gravel... somehow I don't see why you would add a layer of gravel around a clinker brick house where the driveway and the path to the front door already run directly alongside the house. It's also the north and east side. I find it 1. ugly and 2. it takes up space... wouldn't a paved surface with a slope be enough? Especially since we are building without a basement, the water should be able to seep away somewhere without pooling against the basement wall...

We did it this way. Paving directly against the clinker with [Noppenbahn] in between. Plenty of slope and sufficient drainage into the green area (paths & terrace) or via [ACO Rinne] into the infiltration system (driveway).
