We also have a sliding door made of glass towards the hallway. Since we just moved in recently, we only installed the floor guide a short time ago and have now put the sliding door "into operation." For us, odors and heat are kept much better in the kitchen, even if the door does not close properly. Otus11: I cannot confirm that. It works perfectly for us.

There are two-wing sliding doors. Whether I push with one hand in one direction or with both hands outwards, it shouldn't make a difference.

Then you could possibly make the opening a bit larger. If there are proper bar handles on the door, you can't open it across the entire width because the handle would be in the way.

For this reason, our sliding door facing the living room has a bar handle and on the hallway side a recessed handle. And the guide rail is correspondingly long enough so that the entire width can be used.
