Glass roof over sleeping rooms, sounds of rain

My parents have a 50 sqm conservatory with a glass roof. The rain is so loud that you can't sleep in the adjoining bedroom during storms and rain. A window cleaner comes every three months for the roof cleaning. And yes, the internal shading does not help against the heat when the sun is shining. But it is always amusing to read about the architectural contortions that builders come up with to outsmart building plans.

Sandwich panels with PIR core? It might just work including the substructure - there are various suppliers, from "trapezoidal sheets" for industrial halls to designer roofs with suitable gutters, skylights, etc.

Ok, those are indeed more significant counterarguments, thank you! Well, if I can create a value of 270,000 euros with a few considerations, then this is not just for fun for me. For the money, I certainly work longer in my job than the hours spent pondering and scratching my head here. Actually, I find it unfortunate that these considerations don't come from the architect and I have to bother you here ;)

I just quickly did some research, that seems to be a good option. Since you can hardly see the roof anyway, it probably doesn't look too bad visually. What is "UK"?

Substructure. Vacuum panels will probably be the thinnest. However, they are expensive and need to be well protected - not sure if [Trapezblech] is sufficient for that. Penetrations are also rather difficult there. But with 20-30mm they insulate almost as well as 160mm EPS 035.

That may apply to you, but not to everyone... there are people who live in the flight path of airports, along railway lines where the ICE thunders by or freight trains, by highways or in the city on main roads with tram tracks... they all find their sleep as well, you get used to a lot...

I cannot sleep in spa towns, where it is really silent at night. I miss the background noise level there that I have been used to all my life as a big city child.

For our little daughter, we always play rain sounds on YouTube... she falls asleep wonderfully and quickly with them, the pattering rain is very calming.

Not every person is a nail, and therefore it takes more than a hammer to solve the problems.
