What exactly do I have to demand to ensure that the heating system is properly sized?
In Germany, there is practically nothing for which some kind of standard does not apply. Where standards no longer apply, the ART (generally accepted rules of technology) apply beyond that. A complex topic.
Simply demand a complete heating system design and have it checked externally. It should include:
1. Energy Saving Ordinance / Kfw proof - optimization
2. Air volume plan / ventilation concept according to 1946-6, if controlled residential ventilation / heat recovery is intended
3. Heat load calculation according to 12831 (Here, among other things, room temperatures are agreed)
4. Heating surface dimensioning radiator / underfloor heating / WH according to EN 442, 1264 => heat pump optimization
5. Dimensioning of domestic hot water preparation
6. Pipe hydraulics
7. Selection / recommendation of heat generator
8. Consumption forecast
The chronological order is mandatory here. One should definitely create a consumption forecast, have it checked, and provide it as an annex to the contract.
Along with the correct specialist contractor declaration, you are then well secured.
Kind regards
