Hello experts,

one of many questions: What is more economical, an air heat pump or a gas heating system? One point among many, about which we have little knowledge.

We had considered a photovoltaic system with an air heat pump, but it is probably clear that usually the sun shines the least when you need the heating.

Is the good old gas heating system after all more economical?

Thank you!

It always depends on something... on the insulation standard of the house and the coldness of the average winter (objective, not your feeling). The warmer and the better insulated, the more likely an air-to-water heat pump. Photovoltaics can be done.

Would still consider the target KFW 55;

Then rather air-to-water heat pump; otherwise still solar thermal.

In both cases controlled residential ventilation necessary.

If no KFW, then probably gas.

I have to disagree... I would be cautious with air-to-air heat pumps... ST is also often not economical.

Just leave out the photovoltaic system, that already saves a lot of money.

Possibly the legislator will then force you to take other measures, which will cost money again. With a heat pump, you can also do without the gas connection.

For us, the air-water heat pump is more economical (of course you can only really know that in 10 to 20 years, but based on current assumptions it is so). We are building a KfW70 house in central Germany.

With an air heat pump (air-to-air heat pump) I would have concerns, underfloor heating is not possible either; if a heat pump, I would rather choose an air-to-water heat pump (air-to-water heat pump). According to the current status, the gas solution is certainly the most economical. But who really knows the raw material prices of the future?
