Hello Sauerpeter,

Electricity: Large consumers are the ventilation system, freezer chest, refrigerator - exactly in this order. If you have all these devices, you can expect up to 5000 kwh. The ventilation alone accounts for 900 to 1500 kwh. In the first year, we had a total electricity consumption of 4,400 kwh.

Gas: Hot water is of significantly lesser importance compared to heating. In the first year, we set the heating a bit cooler (around 22 degrees) and reached about 23,000 kwh for approximately 265 sqm of heated area. According to many experiences, the first year is usually more heating-intensive because the house still has a lot of water in the walls.

Now the heating is set a bit warmer because it was sometimes too cold for us (around 23.5 degrees). Hopefully the walls are already a bit drier. If we reach 23,000 kwh again, I would be quite satisfied.

Costs:
With the help of relevant comparison portals, we come to electricity costs of about 90 euros per month and gas costs of about 70 euros per month.

Choice of heating system: For all those who have not yet started building, I would suggest considering spending a little more on a good heating device. A good device can quickly bring a small storage tank (e.g. 150 liters) up to temperature and thus power 2 or 3 showers, while still running very efficiently over the months.

Electricity: Light bulbs no longer belong in the house. --> LED

Best regards

In the meantime, we are fed up with "saving." We are Swabians, but over 23 degrees is comfortable. And my better half works in the swimming pool [Schwimmbad]. So far, we use under 200 kWh per month for hot water, heating, and ventilation. That is okay.

We have been at 1,400 kWh of electricity and 7,000 kWh of heat since January. Our low electricity consumption surprises me myself, especially since we dry almost all laundry in the dryer. It is probably due to the new cooling appliances and many LEDs. 2 adults, 2 children, 200 m², 23 °C.

Sorry, but in general, that's nonsense. Our central ventilation system with controlled residential ventilation consumes about 1 kwh per day (runs 24/7). That means about 365 kwh per year.

That is also normal and corresponds with the manufacturer's specifications. Merlin's consumption is beyond any reasonable limit.

Thank you all for the many answers. Some answers were exactly what I expected. And even if it may all be guesswork and it differs from family to family, it still helped to get a rough feeling for it.
