Hello,
we are currently planning our house and garage on our purchased plot.
Our house is to be red brick-faced and there should be a double garage (6 x 6m) next to it at two neighboring boundaries in the corner of the plot.
Since I heard that a masonry garage is considerably more expensive than steel sheet garages and I have already seen a red-plastered steel sheet garage, we decided on one like that. We wanted to make a passage between the garage and the house. That would have two advantages: you could always walk from the entrance of the house to the other side of the house/garage back door and the only plastered garage would not clash with the brick of the house. Right next to the house it would rather fit less. The garage side is the eaves side of the house. The garage would adjoin the house for about 2 meters in length.
What passage width would you make between garage and house? Is one meter too little? Should a gate be planned?
