We have a 22° roof pitch and a 2.60m knee wall. Whether the rooms appear smaller because of that, I can hardly judge, but I find the sense of space significantly better. The floor wouldn't be practically usable anyway, and there is enough storage space in the basement. A few usage possibilities (loft bed, etc.) also arise from this or are easier to realize. I would definitely do it that way again!

We now live in the house. We chose the gable-high variant with a visible ridge beam and it looks great. We are glad that we did not install any ceilings.

Since I am currently having EXACTLY THIS discussion with my boyfriend (he doesn't like the high walls, I want it open): PLEASE TAKE PICTURES!!!!

We do have a lower knee wall, but a steeper roof (unfortunately), but even so, our walls are about 4m high.

We had it in the old house, but we never liked it and in the photos it again does not suit my taste. With a nice, open wooden construction ([Aufdachdämmung]), my opinion would probably be different. If that is not possible, rather a ceiling at 2.60 m.

Well, what remains as attic space is hardly usable anyway. Then I might as well do without the ceiling and have nice, tall, airy rooms. I think it's good. Karsten
