Gable raised (4.18 m) or suspended ceiling (height??)

We have a two-story house with a gable roof with a 25-degree pitch under construction:

Would you leave the gable completely open? That would result in a room height of 4.18 m in the middle of the house up to the bottom edge of the ridge beam.

Or would you install a ceiling? If yes, at what height?

Do you perhaps have a similar attic yourself and can share your experiences?

Is the price cheaper because of the open gable? After all, a ceiling is missing.

I always found in the model homes that making use of the high rooms with, for example, a loft bed or a reading nook, was always interesting.

The ceiling above the upper floor in the example is not very large, moreover, instead, insulation and cladding must be installed between the rafters. So no; it really doesn't get cheaper

I had a terraced end house which had an open gable. We found it airy since we had two large rooms on the gable sides, so not divided like you into 4 rooms. Our house was about 5.50 meters wide with an average height of 4.30! I don't know how wide your rooms will be. Our neighbors also had two rooms on one side measuring about 2.60/2.80. There the room proportions no longer worked. In addition, we had upper windows, triangles, which were very valuable to us because there was always light. Others were bothered by this and covered these windows.

So we also have everything open up to the ridge beam, but with an open wooden beam ceiling. Of course, it looks different than with a clad ceiling.

We also considered leaving part of it open. Since the crawl space is only 140 cm high anyway and you won’t use it anyway. But we discarded that again:

Everything is open with us. Up to the ridge, it is then 3.8 m. Since we have a basement, we don't also need storage space in the roof, so the decision for the sense of space was quickly made.
