Hello everyone,
unfortunately, I couldn’t find anything suitable about this.
We were at the window manufacturer today and have also already talked about front doors.

Since I unfortunately forget the key very often (at least I don’t lose it), and thus frequently crawl around in the garden to fetch the spare key, I would like to have a front door system in the new building that can preferably be opened with a door code or fingerprint (and of course additionally with a key).

So far, I don’t see any advantage of one system over the other.

And no, it’s not enough to have a spare key in the car or with the neighbors; I definitely want a system that works without a key.

Hm - I am "theoretically" enthusiastic about the fingerprint solution, but practically not at all. However, my experiences mainly refer to the finger scan on the phone (S5). While it works flawlessly for my wife (S6), pure frustration sometimes breaks out with me. Acceptance of the scan on the first try is a rarity. On the other hand, rejection after the 5th attempt with a waiting time (30 s) is not uncommon at all. There have also been more than a few times with 10 unsuccessful attempts. After the 15th unsuccessful attempt, I am informed that I have another 5 attempts and then the phone will be locked - fortunately, this has never happened yet. Meanwhile, a hatred for this app is slowly developing (especially when you just want to take a nice snapshot of the kids NOW) - but somehow I’m too stupid to deactivate this damn thing. Another problem with the finger scan could be dirty (see gardening) or wet (winter) hands. Therefore, I would rather tend toward the door code - however: If you constantly forget the house key, how will it go with the code?

Well, I wouldn't have to take the code with me, I would always have it with me. I can remember numbers well.

With us, eventually Code+Transponder Fingerprint is simply too unreliable at least for now

I just thought the same... why not all three?

Does it cost a lot more?

For fingerprint, I was quoted an additional charge of about 700 euros.

I installed a fingerprint scanner from Ekey, absolutely no problems, my finger is actually recognized every time. Even wet and dirty fingers work relatively well (however, only up to a certain level of dirtiness, which is why I also registered several fingers).
