The technical rule that requires a slope still applies - I didn't make that up...

Sebastian, I am not aware of any rule that strictly requires a slope for terraces. There are only guidelines provided by manufacturers to exclude liability. Surely, there are DIN standards and recognized rules of technology that prescribe what must be observed in construction. Our architects or surveyors can certainly provide exact information on this. I am sure that there is no regulation regarding the slope. Please correct me if I am wrong. Sent with'm Handapparat

Exactly the accepted rules I meant - what else could there be? Law of the slope?

Interesting discussion. In my opinion, the "recognized rule" could also mean that it must be ensured that no water can run into the hut, even if the terrace has no slope. As far as I know, this must be communicated among all parties involved in the construction. Or is what I am writing nonsense? I am not familiar with the standards and rules in this regard.

In theory, you need a channel for that - and actually a 15cm step. And I MEAN that the DIN does not differentiate between types of floor coverings, but always requires a slope away from the house - that should basically always be a basic rule. However, with a wooden terrace, I wouldn't take it so strictly either. But I wouldn't dismiss it as nonsense either...

The "DIN" does not demand anything at all, it also manages with zero slope
