Hello everyone
Next month our garage will be assembled. I am now considering which floor covering I should install there. Should I install one at all?

It is a pumice precast garage with the dimensions 6x8m. My vintage car will definitely be parked inside. The car is usually only driven in dry conditions. Whether an everyday car will be parked on the other side, I don’t know yet. The garage will initially be used for parking and tinkering.

The floor slab is made of WU concrete.

What could I use as a floor covering? It should also be something I can apply myself. I would say that I am handy. At least, I haven’t heard anything negative so far... that could still come. I want to say that it should be a system that can definitely be applied by a non-professional.

Best regards
Stephan

Why do you want to install a new floor covering in your garage? Concrete is best after all.

Untreated concrete or screed sheds sand, absorbs moisture and looks unattractive after some time. If you want to properly showcase your treasures, I would cover the floor with porcelain stoneware. It is oil and petrol resistant, easy to sweep, wipe with a damp cloth, and looks good.

Take a look at Flexi Tiles. We have them in the basement, some people also lay them in the garage. They are common in car dealerships. If you enter the term in the search here in the forum, you will find more information about it.

TE has probably had his flooring for a long time considering the age of the thread... just look at the date, applies to other posts as well
