With us, the controlled residential ventilation pipes (metallic and square) were mounted directly on the concrete floor/wooden floor, next to the water and electrical lines in protective conduit. Insulation was applied on the remaining surface, around the pipes etc., granulate. Above that, insulation, foil, and then the underfloor heating. The minimum coverage with us was said to be about 6 cm above the controlled residential ventilation pipe...

And did the supply air come from the floor?

Possibly a picture

Hey!
We have supply and exhaust air through the ceilings everywhere, except in the 2 children's rooms, where the supply air is on the wall at a height of 3.2m, since there is no "straight ceiling" there.

Is this also applicable to the kitchen exhaust? We are getting a cooking island and I would then like to lead the exhaust air downward over the floor to the outer wall.

Are you now talking about a [Wrasenabzug]? Then the pipes are definitely bigger, since it has to transport significantly more air. Otherwise, that's not a problem for the time being. You would just need to check where the pipe comes out of the wall, because it is then probably located in the splash zone of the exterior wall.

The flat duct for the extraction of fumes runs on the concrete floor towards the exterior wall. There it then rises in the exterior wall and finally goes outside at about 30cm above the finished floor level. If needed, I can upload a sketch from the kitchen installer. But nowadays it is standard and absolutely nothing special.
